STOKENHAM LUNCH CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY
Helpers, drivers, members and their guests filled a festive parish hall for the Lunch Club Annual Christmas Party. Unfortunately Father Christmas was unable to attend this year but was able to spirit the fairy off the Christmas Tree to the delight of all.

In

Two years ago the Parish Hall Trustees
took the decision to raise funds for a new kitchen refit and after many fund
raising events, careful attention to its financial affairs and the assistance of
local funded grants the kitchen refit went ahead in August and was completed on
time by the end of the month. To mark this special occasion our new kitchen was
formally opened by our local County Councillor Julian Brazil on Monday 21st
September.
The total project cost was just under £19,000 and the
Trustees wish to thank those local organisations and individuals involved in
helping us to raise enough money to commence work. Our special thanks to Devon
County Council for a £7,500 Grant (from the Sale of Exeter Airport) and for a
£1,000 grant from the Devon Community Foundation (Grassroots). Without this
level of support our project would not have been possible and we can now boast
an up to date quality kitchen that will be put to good use by our local
community.
