HEAD TEACHER SUE JEZARD OPENS PARISH FETE ON HOME GROUND

Heavy rain and strong winds enforced a change of venue from the gardens of Stokenham House to Stokenham Primary School for this year's parish fete to be very appropriately opened by head teacher Sue Jezard. In spite of the atrocious weather conditions 468 turned out to support the event which raised over £3,000 for church funds.

As part of the Stokenham Jazz Week-end the Jazz & Gospel Service attracted a large and enthusistic congregation. Other events included a Samba Band, Cool Lunchtime Jazz and a Grand Concert featuring local talent. The week-end altogether raised over £1,250 on behalf of the charity "Riders For Health" who provide life saving assistance to many of the peoples of Africa.
